Cafe Manager

The Lyttelton Well is a Christian charity located in the centre of Great Malvern at the entrance to Great Malvern Priory. The charity was established in 1993 and operates a professional counselling service, café, Christian bookshop, chaplaincy service and hires out halls and rooms. The charity is also partners with Malvern Hills foodbank, acting as a collection and distribution point. The focus of all its work rests in its Objectives, which are:

  • The advancement of the Christian religion by the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ;
  • The relief of poverty, sickness and distress;
  • The relief and rehabilitation of the mentally ill and of disabled persons;
  • The relief of the aged;
  • The promotion of charitable work of churches in Malvern.

The Lyttelton Well café is a popular community café offering simple lunches, drinks, cakes and snacks in a gently Christian environment which outworks our objectives and ethos.

We are currently recruiting a café manager to provide leadership and direction to our café operations ensuring we meet all regulations required, to ensure the café is outworking and fulfilling the charity’s objectives, and to represent the Charity’s nature and aims to the public.  Please note that there is an occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be a practising Christian.

Hours: 30 hours per week, to include a combination of cooking and managerial responsibilities. The division of hours between the two aspects of the role is not fixed and to be agreed with your line manager.

Salary: £12.50 p/h (19,500 p/a). The charity operates a pension scheme where contributions are matched up to 6%.

Start date: To be mutually agreed.
