Course Aims:
The aim of the course is that, by understanding human growth and development, you should become more aware of yourself, grow in wholeness and be enabled to support others more effectively.

The course has several elements:

• Understanding the client's story - learning about different stages of the growth of the personality using Erikson's theory of psycosocial development as our base;
• Understanding my story - growth of self-awareness in order to help others understand themselves;
• Understanding God's story - theological reflection on your own story and the story of others, in the light of scripture;
• Developing a disciplined approach to counselling - the Egan Model of counselling will be used as a basis to develop these skills.
