The Well Counselling Service

The Well Counselling Service was launched in 1993 when the Lyttelton Well was opened. The service is affiliated to The Association of Christian Counsellors and also adheres to the Code of Practice and Ethics of B.A.C.P. Counsellors work in the quiet, purpose-built Counselling Suite within the Lyttelton Well and are supported by a number of caring, trained receptionists.

All the counsellors are drawn from the local Church Community but clients with faith or no faith are equally welcome. Each counsellor receives professional supervision and all are responsible for their ongoing Professional Development, attending courses or talks at The Well, or beyond.

The Service runs franchised Courses up to Diploma level and occasionally runs Basic Listening Skills Courses for local Church Pastoral Care members.

The Service works closely with the Community, and in particular with local GP's who refer over 90% of our new clients.

The Service contact number is 01684 563456 (a confidential line) and our Counselling Coordinator will take client details and match the client to a suitable Counsellor. Each client will be informed about the registration fee and voluntary donation system. Times and frequency of appointments are negotiated with clients and each Counsellor aims to uphold and respect the uniqueness, dignity and worth of each of their clients.
